Migration of biliary stent resulting in ureteral obstruction: A case report.

Abstract

This case report describes a rare complication following endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) involving biliary stent migration, leading to ureteric obstruction. Initial management of choledocholithiasis with ERCP and stenting was followed by laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Unexpectedly, a month later, the patient presented with back pain due to the migrated stent compressing the ureter. Intervention with single balloon enteroscopy successfully resolved the issue, highlighting the importance of timely diagnosis and multidisciplinary management.
