Abstract

Understanding the electrode–electrolyte interface in energy storage devices remains an important challenge for the improvement of these systems. This paper introduces an operando technique that couples cyclic voltammetry with a system implementing the Pressure-Wave-Propagation method. This technique has been applied to RbOH ceramics containing either silver or gold electrodes, revealing different space charge distributions during their oxidation processes. In addition, this experimental method was employed to monitor aluminum corrosion in the presence of a NaCl solution. This method provides insights on the dynamics of electrostatic charges during charging–discharging cycles and enables to gather critical information from solid–liquid and solid–solid interfaces.
