Abstract
This paper presents a new control algorithm for a converter operating with a brushless direct current (BLDC) machine in the regenerative braking state. In the single-switched transistor control algorithm, the reverse current conduction phenomenon of power field-effect transistors (P-MOS) was introduced. As a result, the efficiency of the converter has been improved by about 10% compared to the previously known solutions. The new control algorithm has great implementation potential in electric-powered: bicycles, scooters, light cars, mild hybrid cars and small wind power plants.
