Abstract

The present study examines advancements in the synthesis of various zeolites utilizing non-conventional sources, with a particular emphasis on kaolinite deposits sourced from diverse regions globally. The study compares the suitability of kaolinite deposits from different geographical locations for zeolite synthesis and investigates the reaction conditions conducive for their formation. Notably, the study underscores the successful synthesis of zeolites from kaolin deposits worldwide, highlighting the importance of leveraging resources to mitigate the nation's reliance on imported zeolites. The paper also examines various types of zeolites developed from kaolinite in previous years, with particular emphasis on recent reports and key synthesis factors such as the SiO2/Al2O3 molar ratio, metakaolinization parameters, aging conditions, alkalinity, and crystallization conditions. The analysis incorporates the most up-to-date research on kaolinite-based zeolites published to date, with a brief discussion on the evolution of zeolites.
