Abstract
Confronted on a daily basis with the task of alleviating suffering and accompanying patients, the need for care in turn confronts caregivers with their own limits. Claire's story examines the transition from caregiver to cared-for. Questions emerge about the mechanisms at play in this new relationship and this dual position of caregiver. The results of a survey of 27 healthcare professionals are presented, with the aim of highlighting their posture in response to the care of a fellow carer. Their responses confirm the ambivalence and weight of such care in their professional environment.
