Abstract
Polarized macrophages undergo metabolic reprogramming, as well as extensive epigenetic and post-translational modifications (PTMs) switch. Metabolic remodeling and dynamic changes of PTMs lead to timely macrophage response to infection or antigenic stimulation, as well as its transition from a pro-inflammatory to a reparative phenotype. The transformation of metabolites in the microenvironment also determines the PTMs of macrophages.
