Abstract
Lithium Metal Anodes
In article number 2413958, Johannes Kasnatscheew and co-workers present bi-directional crosstalk phenomena within Li-based batteries, i.e., (1) from cathode to anode via transition metals and (2) from anode to cathode via solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) components. The latter, the “inverse crosstalk”, is severe for Li anodes and can thicken cathode electrolyte interphases (CEI), but is shown to have low impact on resistance and battery performance.
