Pediatric obesity treatment yields long-lasting health effects

Abstract

Researchers in Sweden, funded by a pharmaceutical company which makes diabetes and weight-loss medications, have found that the long-term effect of pediatric obesity treatment has benefits for critical health outcomes in young adulthood. However, the study also found that the earlier treatment is begun, the better, as adolescents do not have as good outcomes as younger children to obesity treatment.
