Abstract
Glycosylated molecules play pivotal roles in numerous biological processes and are implicated in various diseases, making their selective detection and isolation essential for biomedical research and clinical applications. In recent years, molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) have emerged as promising materials for the specific recognition and capture of glycosylated molecules. This review provides an overview of the recent advances in the development of MIPs tailored for glycosylated molecules. Furthermore, this review addresses the challenges associated with the development of these polymer-based systems, such as their stability and biocompatibility, and proposes innovative solutions derived from recent research findings. Finally, the review concludes with a perspective on future directions and challenges in the field, highlighting the need for continued research to address issues such as scalability, efficiency and real-world applicability.
