Abstract
Low-carbon microalloyed steels are now extensively used in various branches of technology and industry due to the excellent combination of the characteristics of strength, ductility, weldability, and corrosion resistance. However, in the course of operation of steel products, one may encounter the problems caused by the fatigue fracture of these products under cyclic loads. As one of important factors, we can mention the structural state of products, including the presence of nonmetallic inclusions and phase precipitates. At present, the investigation of the fracture processes in steel under repeated loads remains topical. In the present survey, we summarize and systematize the results of analysis of the influence of nonmetallic inclusions and phase precipitates on the fatigue strength of low-carbon microalloyed steels.
