Abstract
It is very likely in the near future, nurses with less than 10 years of experience will be in executive leadership roles. Identifying and preparing high performing nurses for leadership roles is essential. Proactive succession planning is a key component to prepare nurse leaders minimizing disruption at all levels of nursing leadership particularly the executive leadership level.
