Abstract
It was previously thought that the articles that humans inhale and that have adverse effects were micron-sized, and particles with a particularly high content of crystalline silica were thought to have harmful effects. In recent years, manufactured materials have been further refined to nano-level particles, and it has been reported that these ultra fine particles have different adverse effects, making it necessary to perform occupational health management for chemicals that are different from those of ordinary micron-sized particles. Here we report the adverse effects of carbon nanotubes, welding fumes, and organic substances as examples of nano particles.
期刊介绍:
The scope of the journal is broad, covering toxicology, ergonomics, psychosocial factors and other relevant health issues of workers, with special emphasis on the current developments in occupational health. The JOH also accepts various methodologies that are relevant to investigation of occupational health risk factors and exposures, such as large-scale epidemiological studies, human studies employing biological techniques and fundamental experiments on animals, and also welcomes submissions concerning occupational health practices and related issues.
