Abstract

The 50th birthday of the JEP: Human Perception and Performance is an appropriate occasion to salute its influence in the field. In this celebratory article, the author tries to trace some of the work reported in Volume 1 to current research. He hopes that this might be inspirational to some of its readers. His selection was guided by his familiarity with some areas of research, but almost all of the articles can be related to current trends.
