Abstract
This work presents a high-yield approach to recycle duck feather into carbon dots (CDs) via hydrothermal treatment. The resultant CDs exhibit matrix-free solid-state fluorescence under ultraviolet lamp, and long-lived green room-temperature phosphorescence after removing ultraviolet lamp. Furthermore, their ink demonstrates excellent potential in anticounterfeiting and information encryption, offering a distinctive perspective to reclamation of the feather wastes for environmental sustainability.
