It has various biological activities such as antioxidant, anti-proliferative, anti-inflammatory, anti-thrombotic, and regulates apoptosis and ferroptosis. Recently, increasing evidence indicates that baicalin regulation of ferroptosis is involved in multiple diseases. However, the relevant mechanisms are not yet fully understood. Abstract

Ferroptosis is a new kind of cell death discovered in recent years, usually accompanied by a large number of lipid peroxidation and iron accumulation in the process of cell death. Ferroptosis has been proven to play an important role in various diseases, including ischemic reperfusion injury, cancer, and neurodegeneration. Therefore, the regulation of ferroptosis will have a vital impact on the occurrence and development of diseases.
