Abstract
Acute pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) is a disease with a high mortality rate. Although most patients can recover after timely treatment and intervention during the acute phase, some patients may still have long-term right ventricular dysfunction (RVD), which affects the quality of life and long-term prognosis. A comprehensive understanding of the factors, diagnosis and treatment and management of persistent RVD after acute PTE is crucial for optimizing long-term management for PTE patients and improving their prognosis. This article reviews recent advances in the epidemiology, factors, evaluation, management and prognosis of persistent RVD after acute PTE.
