Abstract

The nursing workforce is essential to all health care organizations. Despite this, nursing continues to struggle to prove its value, secure funding, and justify resources essential for workforce development. Today’s nurse executives must assert their role in the C-suite as experts in developing sustainable and scalable workforce solutions. Hence, it is incumbent on these leaders to shift their focus away from daily operations to design nursing workforce strategies capable of sustaining a supply of qualified nurses.
