Enjeu des thérapies orales chez les patients âgés de plus de 75 ans souffrant d’un myélome multiple : revue narrative de la littérature

Abstract

Introduction

Le myélome multiple, hémopathie incurable, prédominant chez la personne âgée, bénéficie de l’essor des thérapies orales anticancéreuses induisant aussi une chronicité dans les soins. En France, le parcours de soins de celle-ci peut bénéficier de l’accompagnement d’un nouvel acteur : l’infirmière en pratique avancée (IPA).

Objectif

Clarifier les facteurs favorisant le suivi et la prise en charge sécure d’un patient adulte bénéficiant d’une thérapie orale antinéoplasique.

Méthode

Cet article propose une revue narrative de littérature sur la gestion des thérapies orales antinéoplasiques.

Résultats

Vingt articles ont été sélectionnés. Ils décrivent les enjeux des thérapies orales anticancéreuses chez les patients âgés, la place des soins infirmiers et les éléments primordiaux qui garantissent la sécurité des patients sous thérapies orales antitumorales.

Conclusion

Les IPA peuvent assurer le suivi des patients sous thérapies orales antitumorales en renforçant l’organisation et la coordination ville-hôpital.

Introduction

Multiple myeloma, an incurable haemopathy, predominantly affecting the elderly, is benefiting from the development of oral anti-cancer therapies, which are also leading to chronicity in care. In France, the care pathway for this disease can benefit from the support of a new player: the advanced practice nurse (APN).

Objective

To clarify the factors favouring the monitoring and safe management of adult patients receiving oral antineoplastic therapy.

Method

This article provides a narrative review of the literature on the management of oral antineoplastic therapies.

Results

Twenty articles were selected. They describe the challenges of oral cancer therapy in elderly patients, the role of nursing care and the key elements that ensure the safety of patients on oral cancer therapy.

Conclusion

APNs can ensure the follow-up of patients undergoing oral anti-tumor therapies by reinforcing the city-hospital organization and coordination.
