The Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement (MSA) imposed major restrictions on tobacco company marketing practices in 1999, including banning the sale and distribution of merchandize with combustible cigarette or smokeless tobacco brand names or logos. However, the MSA does not include restrictions on e-cigarette marketing, as these products were not yet on the market at the time of the settlement.
