In recent years, an increasing number of neuroimaging studies have reported that these neuropsychiatric manifestations are accompanied by significant structural and functional brain alterations in AITD patients, mainly involved in neurocognitive and emotional regions, despite the underlying neurobiological mechanism is still unclear. Abstract

Autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD) is the most common organ-specific autoimmune disease, characterized by thyroid function disorder and autoimmune imbalance. Previous studies have demonstrated the decreased quality of life and neuropsychiatric manifestations in AITD patients, including anxiety, depression, cognitive impairment and affective disorder.
