Anomalías vasculares de la mama

Abstract

Vascular abnormalities of the breast constitute a large group of entities that encompass from processes of metabolic etiology, such as alterations caused by diabetes or arteriosclerosis, to tumor pathology, whether benign or malignant. Non-tumoral vascular processes and benign vascular tumors can simulate breast cancer, so it is very important to establish the differential diagnosis, which can often be made clinically or by paying special attention to diagnostic tests, without sometimes requiring invasive or aggressive examinations. Strictly malignant vascular tumors are exceptional but very aggressive, so they should also be considered for diagnosis. This review reviews the main characteristics of the most significant of them, with the aim of establishing differentiation criteria at the time of diagnostic suspicion.
