Abstract
A mass transfer model for corrosion products (CPs) in a liquid metal cooling system has been developed. The spatial variations in CPs concentration are determined by integrating the source term of the mass transfer model with models for radial iron dissolution, precipitation, particle deposition, and erosion. The model has been validated and verified using experimental data from a lead-cool loop and air. Subsequently, it has been applied to analyze the multi-modular lead-bismuth eutectic (LBE) loop. The results reveal the CPs transfer rate, CPs concentration distribution, overall corrosion characteristics, and the impact of CPs mass transfer on corrosion behavior.
