Abstract

Schmallenberg virus (SBV) and bluetongue virus (BTV) are both transmitted by Culicoides biting midges and infect predominantly ruminants. To investigate the extent of virus spread in the 2022 and 2023 vector seasons, we serologically tested wild ruminants from western Germany.
