Patients with hypoglycemia, hyperlactatemia, and hypocalcemia had a higher mortality risk than children with normal values. Abstract

Point-of-care testing (PoCT), an alternative to laboratory-based testing, may be useful in the clinical care of critically ill children in resource-limited settings.
