Innovative approaches, including mucus transplants, inhaled probiotics, and microencapsulation strategies, have been proposed as novel therapeutic avenues. Despite challenges, including the sophisticated adaptability of microbial communities and the need for mechanistic clarity, the potential for microbiota-based interventions is considerable.
