Chi-square, Fisher's exact and Poisson Generalized Linear Model tests were used.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>most participants (65.6%) had a high level of burnout. In relation to protective factors, those who carried out leisure activities had a 33.6% chance of not developing burnout. Conjugality was also a protective factor. Not practicing physical activity and leisure activities are factors that can contribute to the occurrence of burnout.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>important factors and high rates of burnout were observed in the police officers investigated.
