Specifically, we observed an increase in the genus in both the gut and oral microbiomes and a significant decrease in several butyrate-producing bacteria in fecal samples. Moreover, bacteria such as and were present in pancreatic cancer tissues, suggesting that they might influence the carcinogenesis and progression of pancreatic cancer. The gut and oral microbiome differed between patients with pancreatic cancer and healthy controls, with a notable decrease in butyrate-producing bacteria in the gut microbiome of the patients. This suggests that there may be a distinct microbial signature associated with pancreatic cancer in the Japanese population.
