All respondents indicated that the discontinuation of classes was due to non-payment of subsistence allowances by parents. Abstract

This study aimed to understand why volunteer teachers from the Djiri inspectorate stopped classes at the end of each month. The objectives were to describe the experiences and financial impact on volunteer teachers, analyze the behavior of parents in fulfilling their contractual obligations with these teachers, and report on the contribution of volunteer teachers to children's education.
