Professor Hu Dingyi, as a leading implementer, explored and created a good learning atmosphere for collegiate students beyond the classroom teaching and achieved remarkable results. Abstract

China’s higher educational reform created innovative ways to cultivate talents urgently needed for social development during the late 1970s. This paper investigates an enlightening teaching reform of English major on the basis of Tianshui Normal College in Gansu Province. The historical course has three typical examples: enthusiastically fostering talents, seeking more profound cultural exchanges, and moving educational reform forward. Professor Hu Dingyi, as a leading implementer, explored and created a good learning atmosphere for collegiate students beyond the classroom teaching and achieved remarkable results. His innovative thoughts are of great value to promote classroom teaching for students’ gaining the most precious noble ideal, ethnic culture and more subject expertise.
从一个词到一个世界:中国高等院校的创新教学
20 世纪 70 年代末,中国高等教育改革开创了培养社会发展急需人才的新途径。本文以甘肃省天水师范学院英语专业教学改革为基础,探究其具有启发性的教学改革历程。其历史进程有三个典型:热心培养人才,寻求更深层次的文化交流,推进教育改革。胡定一教授作为主要实施者,在课堂教学之外,为大学生探索和营造了良好的学习氛围,取得了显著成效。他的创新思想对促进课堂教学,让学生收获最宝贵的崇高理想、民族文化和更多学科专业知识具有重要价值。
