At Germany's proposal, Romania accepted to participate in the war against the USSR, in order to regain the territories. Abstract
The article based on archival documents and historiographical sources examines the establishment and activity of the Romanian Special Intelligence Service before the war against the USSR started and in the first months of the war. The author analyzes the activity of the Romanian Special Intelligence Service’s structures on the new Soviet-Romanian border established in early July 1940 after the annexation of Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina to the USSR. At Germany's proposal, Romania accepted to participate in the war against the USSR, in order to regain the territories.
