Using Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), we identified six themes that revealed how participants experienced social group disruptions during emerging adulthood. Participants’ frequent social group disruptions increased their loneliness and negatively affected their mental health, particularly when multiple disruptions occurred simultaneously.
