A positive association between higher HL scores and adherence to nutrition-related recommendations was found in this population. Based on these findings, screening for low levels of HL using validated tools should be integrated into standard practice for nutrition assessment. Abstract

Health literacy (HL) encompasses an individual's ability to access, understand, and integrate health-related information.
