Abstract
Objective: To describe the knowledge about coagulopathy and thromboprophylaxis associated with COVID-19 in medical interns of Chiclayo, 2021. Materials and methods: Observational, descriptive cross-sectional study. Census Study. A data collection form and a questionnaire validated by experts were used that assesses knowledge about coagulopathy and thromboprophylaxis associated withCOVID-19. It was applied to inmates who met the inclusion criteria. Results: One hundred fifty-five medical interns were surveyed. It was evidenced that the most accurate question about coagulopathy associated with COVID-19 with 80.6% was the following: “SARS-CoV-2 protein that binds to the ACE2 receptor to produce the cytokine storm” also regarding the second section corresponding tothromboprophylaxis the premise ¨Enoxaparin has a high activity on the coagulation factor¨ had 80.6%. Finally, regarding the knowledge of existing technical documents regarding this complication, only 33.5% of inmates were aware of it. Conclusions: It was determined that the majority of medical interns know about this complication and its prophylactic management, however, it was identified that very few interns are aware of the existence of technical documents regarding this complication.
