The target population included all universities, all lecturers, and all counselors. Simple random sampling was used to select 2 public universities and Purposive sampling was used to sample 1 private university. Simple random sampling technique was used to sample 178 lecturers. Three counselors were sampled using purposive sampling from the sampled universities. Qualitative research was analyzed in theme derived from the research questions while quantitative data was coded and analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science Version 26.0.using descriptive statistics and presented using frequencies and percentages. The hypotheses were tested using linear and multiple regressions. Findings on the hypotheses established that emotional exhaustion, F (1, 95) = 4.435, p =0.038, had statistically significant relationship with the delivery of professional functions.
