Content analysis of city diplomacy activities

Abstract

This study reflects the results of a project that set out to answer the question: Can a strategy be developed for cities to use city diplomacy activities in a way that benefits the city and its citizens? In order to answer this question, the city diplomacy activities of 30 metropolitan municipalities in Turkey between 2010 and 2021 were subjected to content analysis and topics and objectives code headings were determined. The results provide a basis for explaining the social impact of cities' city diplomacy activities by revealing which issues and objectives they focus on.
