Abstract

Pathology of the visual organs, according to statistics, is an indication for surgical delivery in 20-45%. The main purpose of this review is to analyze the scientific literature on the topic and to study the possibility of early diagnosis of retinal dissection in pregnant women. A pregnant woman with eye diseases needs careful dynamic monitoring, in particular, by an obstetrician-gynecologist and an ophthalmologist, as well as an individual approach to decide on the choice of a method of delivery. When planning pregnancy at the stage of pre-gravidar preparation, patients with visual impairments are recommended to undergo an extended ophthalmological examination. Modern pharmacological and instrumental capabilities of medicine make it possible to effectively and without harm to the mother and fetus treat pathological changes in vision when they are perfectly detected. The most dangerous complication associated with the eyes is rheumatogenic retinal detachment, which can lead to disability. With careful dynamic monitoring by an ophthalmologist, pregnant women with severe gestosis and concomitant diabetes mellitus can avoid complications. Modern medical capabilities make it possible to effectively and safely treat ocular pathologies in pregnant women. In the process of working on the article, the following methodology was used: selection of literary sources using modern information databases, analysis of the information received, systematization of materials and presentation of conclusions. An electronic search was conducted using publications identified in the following databases: eLibrary.RU, Google Scholar, PubMed.
