In view of the above, the author adopted the following research problem:What challenges and threats await higher education in the era of modern digitization? The aim ofthe article is to identify and analyze the changing conditions in the context of shaping the securityenvironment in higher education, determining appropriate needs and values that, without properdiagnosis, may cause a development or an educational crisis. Theoretical methods such as analysis,synthesis, inference and analysis of existing data were used to solve the research problem, mainlyon the basis of data from the Statistics Poland and an international survey conducted by AlessiPaccagnini from the University of Dublin. Preliminary results of the study have shown that insome sciences, synchronous and asynchronous teaching methods will be the leading ones, whichwill make it possible for us to educate students of all ages.
