Abstract

The present study aimed to analyze the knowledge of veterinarians in the metropolitan region of Belém do Pará about the use of Cannabis sativa for medicinal purposes in veterinary medicine. To this end, structured questionnaires were applied through the google forms platform. The data obtained were presented in percentages, in order to collect information on this subject, which is of fundamental importance for the creation of dissemination strategies regarding the medicinal use of Cannabis, making their knowledge evident when more than 40% of respondents claim to have knowledge through scientific articles and understand its importance of integration into the clinical routine, and more than 90% believe that research on the use of medicinal Cannabis needs to be stimulated and have greater dissemination. It is clear in a common opinion of the interviewees the affirmation of the need, not only for more studies on the use of cannabidiol in small animals, but also for the use of tools such as social media to bring this knowledge to people who can be both professionals in the area, as well as tutors who are interested in the subject.
