The prominent place of Vladimir Monomakh in the literary and state development of Rus is emphasized by the modern historian A.Yu. Karpov, especially singling out Monomakh's destruction of the Old Kiev construction of the “rota ascent” of the princes of Russia to the Kiev great throne, his actions on the arrangement of the central region of Russia, which was inherited by him, with a new political center founded by him — Vladimir-on-Klyazma (1108), in the long run — the forerunner of Moscow.
