Mentoring As a Developmental Mechanism of the All-Russian Olympiad for Primary School Teachers “My First Teacher”

Abstract

The article highlights the mechanisms of continuous professional development of a teacher, based on the ideas of personal and professional selfdetermination, identity and professional position, reflective co-creation, project and research activities, implemented during the All-Russian Olympiad of primary school teachers “My First Teacher”. Mentoring is considered as a strategic tool for working with primary school teachers, allowing them to effectively improve their professional level. The possibilities of internal and external mentoring, examples of the implementation of dialogue and cooperation between a mentor and a mentee, a work algorithm consisting of five stages of accompanying a teacher with a mentor as part of participation in the Olympiad, as well as the basic competencies of its participants are presented.
