A <em>thick problem description</em> of entrepreneurship after prison is needed to better understand the unique challenges associated with this unconventional entrepreneurial journey. Drawing on the existing literature coupled with semistructured interviews with five individuals who started businesses after being incarcerated, we utilize an empathy mapping tool to explicate our findings.
