The leaf extract has been shown to be effective in treating infections caused by B. subtilis, P. vulgaris, S. aureus, E. coli, and S. pyrogens. It also aids in the process of cell renewal and repair. Every year, approximately 10,000 tonnes of the plant are used to make herbal medicines. Among the main active substances identified from the plant are phenyl propanoid glycosides such as Syringin, Cordifolioside A, and Cordifolioside B, as well as the immunostimulatory molecule d-glucan. Tannins, alkaloids, carbohydrates, terpenoids, steroids, flavonoids, and phenols are some of the chemical components found in medicinal plants. In addition to their inherent therapeutic qualities, medicinal plants also offer natural disease prevention.
