An Analysis of Instructional Factors for Development of AI Course for Pre-service Mathematics Teachers

Abstract

With the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology and the increase in societal interest, the course has been introduced. However, this introduction may place a burden on mathematics teachers in preparing for the new subject. This study examines the relevance between the curriculum and textbooks and the major subjects of teacher training colleges. It aims to suggest the essential instructional content elements by thoroughly considering the theories of artificial intelligence and mathematics, along with the use of computer programming in AI. This approach is intended to equip prospective mathematics teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively teach the course.
