Abstract

 Chemosensor A , (E)-(4-(2-((2-hydroxynaphthalene-1-yl)methylene)hydrazinyl)benzonitrile has been synthesized by condensation of 4-cyanophenylhydrazine hydrochloride with 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde in ethanol solvent at ∼80°C. The chemosensor A , has been characterized by FT-IR, ESI-MS and 1H-NMR spectroscopic techniques.
