An annotated checklist of the Chilopoda from Azerbaijan

Abstract

This paper presents an annotated checklist of the Chilopoda from Azerbaijan, based on a critical revision of all published literature data. The checklist includes 40 species arranged in 14 genera, seven families, and four orders. Eight species are endemic to the Caucasus, with two species, Lithobius foviceps and Scolopendra media, known from Azerbaijan only. The history of studies on the Chilopoda from Azerbaijan is also summarized.
