Prospects for Meeting Russia’s Needs in Electronic Engineering Products

Abstract

The paper delves into the problem of meeting the needs of Russia’s electronic industry with technological equipment for semiconductor production at present and in the medium term, taking into account the expected development of consumer industries. A quantitative assessment of the scale of the emerging electronic engi-neering industry in Russia, as well as the necessary investments for this purpose is formed. The available op-portunities for reorientation of Russian imports of equipment for the electronic industry to countries that are not unfriendly are considered, and the groups of equipment are identified for which the reorientation of imports is possible, and for which it is completely unrealizable. The analysis of the means of localization in Russia of the necessary industry competencies through cooperation with non-CIS countries, as well as deepening coopera-tion with Belarus, which possesses technologies in the field of production of equipment for the electronics in-dustry in demand in Russia, is carried out.
