Voices of Front-Line Physicians: Physician-Only Discussions

Abstract

What is the best method for eliciting physician input and feedback and establishing bidirectional communication to address factors contributing to burnout, enhance a sense of professional community, and provide mental health support? Trained physician facilitators conducted small-group, physician-only discussions (PODs) that led to organized, actionable items and directly informed directions of departmental initiatives to reduce burnout.
