Abstract
Electrochemical treatment of oil industry wastes such as oil sludge with a high content of mechanical impurities or oil-contaminated soil is one of the effective methods of cleaning the environment directly at the site of contamination. A feature of the technology is the possibility of generating toxic gas emissions. This article analyzes this aspect of the electrochemical cleaning method implementation. Laboratory experiments on the treatment of waste samples containing oil and formation water with electric current were carried out, and gaseous compounds formed during the experiments at different electric current strengths were analyzed.
