Alucitidae (Lepidoptera) – a new family for the fauna of Ethiopia

Abstract

For the first time, the family of Alucitidae is reported as new for the fauna of Ethiopia. One of the two many-plumed moths species, found in Ethiopia, turned out to be new to science: Alucita anna Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich, sp. nov., for the other species, Alucita malawica Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich, 2016, we have established a two new synonyms: Alucita meloui Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich, 2016 syn. nov. and Alucita priona Bippus, 2020 syn. nov.
