Abstract

In Brazil, pork consumption is lower compared to the global consumption. Perspectives of sociocultural origin perpetuate the myths that surround pork, claiming it to be a fatty protein and the transmission of human cysticercosis. The objective was to characterize the profile of pork consumption and knowledge about the taeniasis-cysticercosis complex among students of Veterinary Medicine and Agronomy courses, verifying the possible aspects that interfere with consumption. A total of 137 students were interviewed.
